Frequently asked
How do I play?
Select Roll to throw the dice. Move to any die and click to hold it; held dice get a brass ring and a HELD tag, and stay put when you roll again. Click a held die to release it. The tally plate under the box adds up all five dice.
Five Dice doesn’t enforce any particular rules, so you can use it for whichever five-dice game your table plays.
What do the remote buttons do?
- Touch surface or arrows: move between dice and buttons.
- Click (select): hold or release a die, or press a button.
- Play/Pause: roll from anywhere on the screen.
- Hold All / Release All: hold or release every die at once.
- Reset: release all dice and set them back to one.
I pressed Roll and nothing happened.
If every die is held, there’s nothing left to throw. Select Release All, or click a die to release it, then roll again.
I can’t hear the dice.
Check that your TV or speakers aren’t muted, and that the Apple TV’s audio output is set correctly in Settings › Video and Audio. Five Dice plays its rattle through the same output as everything else.
Which Apple TV models are supported?
Any Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K running tvOS 16.1 or later.
Is my game saved?
No. Five Dice is a dice box, not a scorekeeper: the dice reset each time the app starts. Nothing about your games is stored or sent anywhere. See the privacy policy.
Where can I get Five Dice?
Five Dice is on the App Store. On your Apple TV, open the App Store and search for “Five Dice TV”.
